Mid-Year CX Check-In: Global Shifts and Lexden’s Leadership Highlights

Mid-Year CX Check-In: Global Shifts and Lexden’s Leadership Highlights

As we reach the midpoint of 2025, we’ve taken time to reflect on where the customer experience discipline stands – and what Lexden has contributed so far this year.

Across sectors, across borders, and across customer expectations, CX continues to evolve. AI, authenticity and emotional alignment are no longer differentiators – they’re the baseline. And for those of us who guide businesses through this landscape, staying still isn’t an option.

Global Signals: What’s Shaping CX in 2025

AI gains traction

From Cannes Lions to Zendesk Relate, conversations have shifted from if AI belongs in CX to how it’s implemented. Agentic AI for example (intelligent systems capable of decision-making) is starting to automate tasks and help frontline teams respond faster and smarter. Brands like Mercedes-Benz and Salesforce are experimenting at scale.

Proceed with caution, the legal teams will say. Our discussions on the CX Superheroes podcast with Destination AI highlighted; optimise don’t commercialise. Make improvements, not just efficiencies.  Our experience with AI is outside the contact centre where clients are optimising the capability to speed up answers from analytics, as well as improving accuracy.

Experience over product, especially in luxury

The greatest generational wealth transfer in history is underway, and with it comes an entirely new blueprint for what luxury means.

We are witnessing a turning point. With trillions set to change hands, the financial stakes have never been higher. But numbers alone don’t tell the full story. True understanding comes from looking beyond the data to the individuals behind the wealth: their motivations and evolving expectations.

Research from Lexden Luxe reveals that for UHNWIs, experience alone is no longer enough. Real value lies in being part of the creation, understanding the intention and thought behind every memory.

Younger UHNW clients are shifting away from spectacle, seeking substance instead. Their questions run deeper: What truly enhances my life? Which experiences will stand the test of time?

This evolution calls for a “peace of mind” approach to bespoke client management to eliminate the complexities of luxury ownership and replace them with meaningful engagement.

Authenticity matters more than polish

Younger consumers are holding brands to account. A panel of CMOs at Cannes summarised it well: they want values lived, not marketed. Performative messaging is falling flat.

Customer expectations aren’t slowing down

While Europe has seen modest improvements in CX performance, Forrester reports many global brands are stalling. Emotional drivers like fairness, certainty and belonging remain under-addressed.

Lexden’s View: A Strong First Half of the Year

We’re proud to have kept pace – and led in many areas.

Award recognition to close 2024

We ended last year on a high, winning Best B2B CX at the ICXA™ 2024, and shortlisted for multiple other categories. Our MD, Christopher Brooks, also received individual honours including CX Thought Leader of the Year and Culture Champion from CX Today.

Lexden Luxe officially launched

Our UHNWI bureau, Lexden Luxe, is now officially open – crafted with world leading research and a team of masters in luxury experience management insight. The launch in Monaco brought out some of the most sought-after brands on the planet to discuss where experience excellence will be in the future and how Lexden Luxe is already there. In the first year over 20 UHNWI brands will be engaged with Lexden Luxe to create a unique collection of incredible clientele experience stories. Plus, a first – the Luxe Visionaries brings you the thoughts of tomorrow’s thinkers, today.  Watch this space for the launch of the first season of interviews.

CX World Games: Education, Purpose, and Progress

We were proud to support the first University Edition of the CX World Games – which was ran in person by VMU Faculty of Economics & Management, Lithuania, with our permission, guidance and backing. Students earned credits towards their degrees through real-world CX collaboration. Meanwhile, our Corporate Edition ran with a charitable purpose, and the 2025 World Games concluded successfully this spring.

CX communities growing fast

On LinkedIn, we’ve continued to invest in peer learning and sector-specific knowledge sharing. Our five active communities (CX Strategy, CX L&D, CX Tech, CX Yorkshire and Luxury Client Experience) are helping CX professionals connect, share tools and support one another.

New Ways We’re Supporting Clients

This year has seen a shift in how we support businesses – adapting to what clients need most.

Standalone CX Maturity Assessments

Previously only available as part of broader engagements, our Customer Experience Maturity Assessments are now available on a standalone basis. This lets organisations benchmark, identify opportunities and act – without long-term commitments.

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® CX workshops

We now offer facilitated LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshops to help teams explore, express and embed CX understanding more effectively. These sessions unlock clarity, create shared purpose and are proving especially valuable in cultural alignment and transformation settings.

Mini MBA in Customer Experience Management

Our most structured learning offer yet: a 10-module, on-demand programme designed to equip senior managers with the frameworks, tools and confidence to lead customer-centric change. Created and led by two global CX experts, the course offers lifetime certification – with optional Honours for those who want to go deeper.

Final Thought

We remain committed to driving CX forward – not just for our clients, but for the discipline itself. Whether that’s through education, tools, community-building or experimentation, our focus is always the same: better outcomes for customers and sustainable value for business.

If you’re shaping CX in your organisation and want a partner who brings insight, structure and experience – we’d love to talk.
